If I lived in San Francisco I would join this community...

SEVEN Mantra

To Creator, obedience
To creation, service
To each other, community

In all things, love
In all things, love

For life, prayer
With possessions, simplicity
In our world, creativity

In all things, love
In all things, love

What I believe.

This is pretty close:
"Once upon a time I believed in a great many things. Now I believe only in a few things, but I believe in them more deeply than I ever thought possible. That God exists, that God is love and that Jesus is the son of God - these things I believe. Everything else is up for debate."
[Maggi Dawn, quoting one of her Theology professors, Christian Century, 3/11/08 p. 37]

I also agree with many (most...all...) of the beliefs expressed in this testimony from Anne Rice (yes, the author who writes all the vampire books)

but, I don't fully agree with this guy - I can see where he is coming from, but I believe in a God who can surpass our human understanding...

Emergent Southeast Michigan

Are you looking to meet with "emerging-minded" Christians in Southeast Michigan? Me too. I have contacted emergentvillage.com and I am planning to start a cohort (small learning group/reading group/discussion group) in Southeast Michigan (Wayne / Washtenaw /Oakland county) to open a dialogue with anyone looking to join the discussion about "the emerging church".

Questions about what the heck a "cohort" does or what "emerging Christianity" is?
- check out my parallel blog where I will do my best to answer some questions or point you in the direction of some answers:

Contact me by posting or stay tuned if you are interested.

Or, if you have already gotten the ball rolling in a similar pursuit, let me know...I would love to join/ally/befriend you!

You scored as Emergent/Postmodern

You are Emergent/Postmodern in your theology. You feel alienated from older forms of church, you don't think they connect to modern culture very well. No one knows the whole truth about God, and we have much to learn from each other, and so learning takes place in dialogue. Evangelism should take place in relationships rather than through crusades and altar-calls. People are interested in spirituality and want to ask questions, so the church should help them to do this.
