Roger Hurston in Japan

While in Japan for two weeks, my Grandfather took many pictures of a variety of things.

The Olympic track and field stadium.  In 1936 Japan had been awarded the honor of hosting the 1940 Summer Olympics.  By 1938, due to planning problems and the invasion of China, Japan withdrew from hosting the Olympics.  They did hold some alternate event there in its place.  The 1940 Olympics were relocated to Finland but later cancelled because of the war.
